About PE 22-28 10mg
TREK-1 knockout animals show a depression-resistant phenotype, which made the channel an attractive target and led to the identification of spadin as an endogenous blocker. PE 22-28 is the minimal active fragment of that peptide, retaining channel-blocking activity at a fraction of the length. What makes it interesting mechanistically is the reported speed of onset in animal models, on the order of days rather than the weeks associated with monoaminergic antidepressants, which points to a distinct pathway. Independent replication outside the originating groups remains limited.
Storage and reconstitution
Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C in a dry, dark environment. Reconstitute in bacteriostatic water. Once reconstituted, store at 2-8°C and use within 30 days. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for shipping and short-term storage.
