About HCG 10,000iu
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone and a full agonist at the LH/choriogonadotropin receptor (LHCGR), the same class A G protein-coupled receptor luteinising hormone signals through. It pairs a 92-residue alpha subunit, shared with LH, FSH and TSH, against a 145-residue beta subunit unique to HCG, and roughly a third of the assembled mass is carbohydrate. That heavy glycosylation is why HCG clears far more slowly than LH itself, and it is the property that makes it the usual reagent for sustained rather than pulsatile LHCGR stimulation in Leydig and granulosa cell models. Receptor occupancy signals through Gs, cAMP and PKA onto the steroidogenic programme, where StAR and CYP17A1 expression are the conventional readouts. This 10,000 IU vial is the larger of the two fills Onex stocks: at the concentrations most in vitro work uses it carries a full dose-response series or a multi-week time course without a second reconstitution, which keeps every arm of a study on one lot and one reconstitution date. Supplied lyophilised against a >99% release specification.
